Jae Han, OD

Dr. Jae Han was raised in Southern California and completed his undergraduate studies in Integrative Biology at the University of California, Berkeley.  He then went on to receive his Doctorate of Optometry degree from the State University of New York, College of Optometry.  Dr. Han was an active member of the student community serving as the Vice President of the California Optometric Student Association, the Vice President of the Student Council, and then President of the Student Council.  Some of his notable clinical rotations were spent at the Philadelphia Veterans Administration Hospital and at Westpoint Military Academy.  Dr. Han furthered his education by completing a residency in Primary Care and Ocular Disease at the Veterans Administration Hospital in the Hudson Valley of New York.

Dr. Han has volunteered his services in Peru and Nicaragua providing free eye care and eyewear to impoverished rural towns and has also volunteered many years at the Special Olympics.  His travels have taught him to provide comprehensive eye exams in Spanish, and Dr. Han is also fluent in Korean.  Before becoming an optometrist, Dr. Han participated in fundamental research to understand how the eye and brain works at the Smith Kettlewell Eye Research Institute in San Francisco.  This research was published in the Journal of Neurophysiology. 

Dr. Han is dedicated to providing his patients the utmost quality eye care utilizing state-of-the art technology.  He is a licensed therapeutic optometrist, certified to diagnose, treat and manage diseases, injuries, and infections of the eyes as well as identify related systemic conditions affecting the eye.  Dr. Han also co-manages laser refractive surgery and cataract surgery.
